If you love the spontaneity and color world of impressionist paintings, you will love this exhibit. Caroline Chen and Rick Phillips, both living in Wilmington, Delaware, paint with a flair that moves the mind and soul. Each stroke vibrates with color and reveals the inner thoughts and personality of the artist. Interestingly, both artists are accomplished in the graphic arts field having their own businesses. Each also has studied fine arts and pursued their passion for the impressionistic flavor of art. Chen has a studio in the Delaware Center for Contemporary Arts in Wilmington and has studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Woodmere Art Museum Studio Program, and several other noteworthy art facilities. Chen states: ?I?m striving to express simple truths before me, to paint the emotion as well as the subject.? Phillips is originally from Pennsylvania and has a degree with high honors from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He studied with renowned artists Henry Koener and Flavia Zortea, As an illustrator he has created works commissioned by Bank of Delaware, Glaxo SmithKline Pharmaceuticals, and others, as well as by private parties.
